A meeting of the Convent of the Starosts of the Małopolskie Viovodship was held on 7 – 8 February 2013 in Stryszawa, in “Beskidzki Raj”, a conference centre located among the hills of the Jałowieckie Range in the Beskidy Mountains.

The members of the Convent are the starosts of poviats from the Małopolska Region and mayors of poviat towns.

Regular meetings organised within the convent enable the participants to exchange experiences with regard to the tasks carried out by the poviats and undertake joint poviat initiatives at the regional level.

The guest of the Convent was the Marshall of the Małopolska Region, Mr Marek Sowa.

The Head of the Environment Department, Mr Pawel Dyrcz presented “ The Programme for Enhancing the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Improving the Quality of Air within the Natura 2000 Areas in the Poviat of Sucha Beskidzka” implemented by the Suski Poviat, as part of which 2349 solar collectors would be installed on residential buildings.
